Regulus was founded in early 2009. The founding team has worked extensively with mid-sized companies and understands their needs and motivations.The firm focuses on mid-market segment, strongly believing that this segment is underserved, and addresses the risk appetite and higher growth ambitions of this segment.

The founding team has a "superior" track record in deal-making across sectors including information technology and media, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, real estate, business services and engineering services, among others. The team comes from a variety of backgrounds, bringing with them specialized industry experience and deep business insights. In their role as investment bankers, the members have held senior positions in leading firms like Kotak Mahindra Capital Company and IL&FS. They have also held positions of responsibility in companies such as HealthCare Global, Inductis and Evalueserve.

In their previous roles, the team members have been involved in the closure of transactions with Noida Toll Bridge, Zensar, Godrej Group, Dabur, Mars Restaurants, Healthcare Global, Mid-day Multimedia, Britannia Industries and Gujarat Pipavav Power Company.

Some of the institutional investors with whom the team has transacted are marquee private equity funds like ICICI Ventures, IL&FS Investment Managers, Barings and IDFC Private Equity.

Increasingly, funds are involving the firm in strategizing for their portfolio companies. This includes creating leverage through increase of long term debt, evaluation of exit options and identification of inorganic opportunities.
